Mahindra and K.C. Mahindra, took the first step. Along with a friend named Malik Ghulam Muhammad, they started a company called Mahindra &amp; Mohammed in Ludhiana. Back then, they were in the business of trading steel. On the other hand, Ghulam Muhammad moved to Pakistan and later became its Finance Minister. So, the Mahindra brothers renamed the company to Mahindra &amp; Mahindra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They looked at the roads of a young, growing India and saw a big gap: India needed vehicles to move people and goods.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And guess what they did?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They brought the tough American Willys Jeep to India and started assembling it here. These jeeps were lifelines for farmers, soldiers, and workers in remote villages.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But the journey didn\u2019t stop there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mahindra Service history has multiple milestones and achievements!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As India grew, Mahindra grew too.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From building tractors that helped farmers, to creating IT solutions, real estate, holidays, finance, aerospace, and even electric cars, Mahindra spread its wings across industries and across the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They turned into a global group with operations in over 100 countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By <strong>1955<\/strong>, the company decided to go public, and a year later, in <strong>1956<\/strong>, it was listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange. This allowed everyday Indians to invest in a dream that was growing fast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In <strong>1961<\/strong>, Mahindra entered the tractor business through a partnership with International Harvester.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This was a turning point.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Indian farmers, who toiled day and night, finally got strong, reliable machines to help them. It was Mahindra\u2019s way of supporting the backbone of the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over the next two decades, the company explored new frontiers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In <strong>1962<\/strong>, they entered the steel business with Mahindra Ugine Steel. By the mid-70s, they were already becoming a force in manufacturing. And in <strong>1977<\/strong>, when the International Tractor Company of India merged with Mahindra, their grip on the farming sector became even stronger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of their proud moments came in 1964 when Mahindra built a custom jeep for Pope Paul VI during his visit to India. That same pride continued when they partnered with Peugeot in 1979 to make diesel engines in India.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By <strong>1983<\/strong>, Mahindra had become the <strong>largest tractor brand in India<\/strong>, a title they still hold today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As India stepped into a new age of technology, Mahindra too evolved. In <strong>1986<\/strong>, they entered telecom and IT by joining hands with British Telecom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;Then came new vehicles like the <strong>Armada<\/strong> in the early 90s and the tough-as-nails <strong>Bolero<\/strong> in <strong>1994<\/strong>. That\u2019s the name that still roars on Indian roads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But it was in <strong>2002<\/strong> that Mahindra truly made heads turn with the launch of the <strong>Scorpio<\/strong>\u2014a world-class SUV built for India and beyond.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Growth didn\u2019t stop there. The group acquired Punjab Tractors in <strong>2007<\/strong>, and in<strong> 2010,<\/strong> they stepped into the global market by buying South Korea\u2019s SsangYong Motor Company.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company had gone from assembling jeeps to building SUVs that ruled the roads, both in India and abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>In 2015, <\/strong>Mahindra launched its electric mobility arm\u2014Mahindra Electric. This was because they knew that the next big leap would be clean energy.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then came the <strong>new Thar in 2020<\/strong>, a perfect blend of tradition and modern design..<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But Mahindra isn\u2019t just about machines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Their project <strong>Nanhi Kali<\/strong> helps educate thousands of underprivileged girls across India.
