Both <strong>DIIs and FIIs are <\/strong>heavily<strong> <\/strong>invested<strong> <\/strong>in the telecommunication sector, apart from their all-time favorite financial services sector. In this article will see the investments made by DIIs and FIIs across sectors to understand which sectors are trending and which institutional investors are betting on.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-overall-investment-growth\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Overall_Investment_Growth\"><\/span>Overall Investment Growth<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During May 2025, the total of institutional investment went up to \u20b978500 crore, mostly driven by block deals, and this is the highest since September 2024. FIIs\u2019 overall investment stood at \u20b921445 crore during May 2025, and the domestic institutional investors, including mutual funds, invested over \u20b957000 crore.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-sector-wise-investment-in-may\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Sector-Wise_Investment_in_May\"><\/span>Sector-Wise Investment in May<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to reports, <strong>mutual funds<\/strong> invested significantly in the telecom sector during May. In total, they invested around \u20b95730 crore while FIIs invested \u20b98089 crore in the telecom sector.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That said, financial services remain at the top of both <strong>DIIs\u2019 and FIIs\u2019<\/strong> choice as they invest \u20b917370 crore and \u20b94028 crore respectively.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The service sector stocks gave tough competition to financial services as investments by foreign institutions rose to \u20b97972 crore while <strong>mutual funds<\/strong> invested Ra.4061 crore.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>FMCG stocks <\/strong>also pulled significant investment during May 2025. Domestic institutions, including mutual funds, invested \u20b910213 crore themselves; however, FIIs invested \u20b9815 crore only in this sector.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While these sectors witnessed an uptrend in <strong>institutional investments<\/strong>, the healthcare sector saw a decline. The BSE Sensex grew by 1.73% during May 2025, while the Nifty 50 increased by 2.05%.
