The <strong>equity mutual fund inflows<\/strong> jumped by 24% in June, as per the <strong>Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI)<\/strong>. During the month, the benchmark indices Nifty 50 gained around 2.7% while Sensex surged around 3.1% even though the global trade tensions were there and geopolitical tension heightened.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, what resulted in this jump? Let\u2019s find out.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-mark-to-market-gains\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Mark-To-Market_Gains\"><\/span>Mark-To-Market Gains<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The rally seen in June in the overall net <strong>asset under management (AUM)<\/strong> of equity mutual funds is mostly due to the mark-to-market gains in the equity segment. The AUM of the <strong>equity funds<\/strong> jumped to an all-time high of \u20b974.41 lakh crore, which stood at \u20b972.20 lakh crore in May 2025 and \u20b969.99 lakh crore in April 2025.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Having said that, while the existing equity funds witnessed such a growth in inflow, the <strong>New Fund Offers (NFOs)<\/strong> saw a massive 52% decline from May 2025\u2019s \u20b94170 crore to June\u2019s \u20b91986 crore.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-category-wise-inflows-and-outflows-nbsp\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Category-wise_Inflows_and_Outflows\"><\/span>Category-wise Inflows and Outflows&nbsp;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Equity Category&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Within the equity mutual fund category, the <strong>largecap funds<\/strong> witnessed the highest inflows growth of 35% in June to \u20b9 1694 crore compared to the previous month\u2019s \u20b91250.5 crore. The <strong>small-cap funds<\/strong> also offered good support as the <strong>open-ended schemes<\/strong> in this segment witnessed an inflow of \u20b94024.5 crore, up by 25% from the previous month\u2019s \u20b93214 crore. The <strong>midcap funds<\/strong> saw a 34% rise in the inflows to \u20b93754 crore from \u20b92808.7 crore recorded in May 2025.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Coming to the thematic funds and sectoral funds, these funds\u2019 inflows, however, fell massively by 77% to \u20b9475.61 crore from a whopping \u20b92052.5 crore registered in May 2025. Even the Equity-linked<strong> savings schemes (ELSS)<\/strong> witnessed an 18% decline in their inflows to \u20b9556 crore from May\u2019s \u20b9678 crore. The funds having dividend yield stocks as the underlying seen inflows of \u20b945.55 crore furring June, better than May\u2019s outflow of \u20b920.82 crore.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Debt Category&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In June 2025, the <strong>liquid funds <\/strong>from the <strong>debt funds<\/strong> category saw an outflow of \u20b925196 crore; however, this is less 37% than the outflow of \u20b940205.4 crore witnessed during May. On the other hand, the <strong>corporate bond funds<\/strong> saw inflows of 7124.5 crore, which dipped by 41% from \u20b911983.3 crore in May.&nbsp; Then the <strong>Credit Risk funds <\/strong>witnessed<strong> <\/strong>an outflow of 168 crore, 32% down<strong> <\/strong>from the outflow of \u20b9248 crore in May.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>ETFs and Hybrid<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally, coming to the <strong>Gold ETFs<\/strong> and <strong>hybrid funds<\/strong>, here the story is quite different. While the Gold ETFs jumped incredibly by 613% to \u20b92080.9 crore from a mere \u20b9292 crore in May 2025. However, other ETF inflows declined by 79% during the same period to \u20b9844.43 crore from \u20b94086.8 crore in May. The hybrid funds inflows for June stood at \u20b923223 crore, up from \u20b920765 crore in May.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>SIPs&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The inflows via SIPs also grew to \u20b927269 crore in June compared to \u20b926699 crore in May 2025.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Wrapping up&nbsp;<\/strong>It is quite interesting to see how the <strong>mutual fund industry<\/strong> has come back on track after a slow May. The investors rejoice at the comeback in the <strong>equity mutual fund segment<\/strong> and are ramping up their investments with positive growth in the coming days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
