On the contrary, DIIs purchased equities worth \u20b914827 crore while selling shares worth \u20b912357 crore, resulting in a net purchase of \u20b92469 crore.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-investment-in-2025-so-far-nbsp\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Investment_in_2025_So_Far\"><\/span>Investment in 2025 So Far&nbsp;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>FIIs<\/strong> and <strong>DIIs<\/strong> moving in the opposite direction is nothing new, as it has now happening since the beginning of the calendar year. Into 2025 so far, FIIs have been net sellers, selling shares worth \u20b92.34 lakh crore. However, the domestic inflow into the Indian equities not only just offset the FII\u2019s outflow of money but also took the markets higher. <strong>DIIs<\/strong>, until yesterday, bought equities worth \u20b96.21 lakh crore (net basis), which is three of the net sale by the <strong>FIIs<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-monthly-figures-nbsp-nbsp\">Monthly Figures&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you look at the monthly number, then in the entire month, both <strong>FIIs<\/strong> and <strong>DIIs<\/strong> are net buyers. However, there is a huge gap in their buying spree. While <strong>FIIs&#8217;<\/strong> net purchase is only of \u20b95049 crore, the <strong>DIIs<\/strong>\u2019 net purchase has been \u20b945724 crore for the month.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-effect-of-fiis-and-diis-on-the-market-nbsp\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Effect_of_FIIs_and_DIIs_on_the_Market\"><\/span>Effect of FIIs and DIIs on the Market&nbsp;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yesterday, as <strong>FIIs<\/strong> turned net sellers while <strong>DIIs<\/strong> were net buyers, the equity benchmark indices were down. The Nifty 50 closed at 25877.85, down by 0.68% while the Sensex was down by 0.7% to 84404.46. However, this fall in the market is also due to other external factors, not only due to <strong>FIIs and DIIs&#8217;<\/strong> investments.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-today-s-market-performance-nbsp\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Todays_Market_Performance\"><\/span>Today\u2019s Market Performance&nbsp;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, the Nifty 50 is trading around 25796.1, down by 0.3% as of around 12.50 p.m. Most of the sectoral indices are in the red today; however, the drop is not that significant. Amidst a sluggish market, the Nifty PSU bank index is going way up and currently gained 2.1% today compared to yesterday\u2019s close.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The broad market indices, such as Nifty Midcap 100, are flat, and so is the Nifty Smallcap 100.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The volatility index of India, VIX, is also flat with just a 0.33% rise today.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-s-driving-the-market-today\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Whats_driving_the_market_today\"><\/span>What\u2019s driving the market today?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, while <strong>FIIs<\/strong> selling played an integral role in dragging the market down today, especially when they were net buyer this month, it is also the global cues that are weak. The Asian market peers are also weak today, and the US markets also ended in the red yesterday.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another major factor taking a toll on the domestic equities is the US-China trade deal, which is still in talks, and there\u2019s no clarity on the same that investors can build upon.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
