This framework applies to data collected within India, whether it&#8217;s gathered online or offline. Additionally, even if data processing takes place outside of India but involves providing goods or services to individuals within the country, the bill&#8217;s regulations will still be applicable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Entities_and_Their_Responsibilities\"><\/span><strong>Entities and Their Responsibilities<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This legislation of the Digital Personal Data Protection Bill covers the entities (both public and private) that handle and process digital data. It emphasises the rights of individuals within India and ensures that their personal data is treated with the necessary care.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Penalties_for_Breaches\"><\/span><strong>Penalties for Breaches<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The DPB-&nbsp; Data Protection Board will determine penalties based on the seriousness of the breach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As per the digital personal data protection bill, 2023, in case of a breach of the terms.
