With time, advancements took place, and LPG gained popularity. However, a large number of women continued to use traditional fuels. To protect the health of women, the government took a great initiative. On May 1, 2016, the Hon\u2019ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, launched PMUY in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh. The initial goal was to provide 8 Crore LPG connections to deprived households by March 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana 2.0 introduced an additional 1.6 Crore LPG connections, focusing on migrant households.
